Keith Farndale, MBA, P.Eng., PMP, EVP, CTP
Keith Farndale is President of Procept Associates Ltd., a premier Canadian provider of consulting and training services since 1994, specializing in project management and business analysis. His own expertise is in engineering/construction projects, especially in the industrial sector. His own typical consulting assignments include: designing Project Management methodologies, developing guidelines and templates, facilitating project planning sessions, benchmarking project management practices, auditing specific projects, and designing and customizing Project Management training sessions for corporate customers.
Keith and his team have developed more than 40 courses, from 1 to 10 days long, in a variety of industries, which are regularly presented at universities, for trade and professional associations, and directly to corporate customers. All training and consulting assignments are consistent with the “bodies of knowledge” of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE), and the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). Keith’s courses and preparation materials have been helping Canadians prepare for PMI’s Project Management Professional examination longer than anyone else in Canada.
Keith’s well-known 6-day Comprehensive Project Management Seminar was the first course in Canada to be aligned with the framework of knowledge of the PMI. He was the Project Management Program Director for the Professional Development Centre, Faculty of Engineering at the University of Toronto from 1999 to 2009, where his courses were the most popular. Keith remains an adjunct lecturer in the Master of Engineering program at the University of Toronto teaching Project Management and Advanced Project Management. He also developed a popular 10-day course for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada, running since 1999. Keith and his team regularly present courses at Dalhousie and Queens Universities, and at the Universities of Calgary, Waterloo, and New Brunswick.
Keith holds degrees in engineering and business. His previous career was in the PM practice area in consulting engineering firms, and in professional project management firms. He was President of the Southern Ontario Chapter of PMI, receiving an Outstanding Contribution award. Keith has been a member of the Project Management Forum of the Ontario Construction Users Council, the Conference Board of Canada, and has been on the advisory board for Project World Canada. He is a Board member assisting in the birth of the new Project Management Association of Canada and is appointed as a “First Assessor” for its 4-level certification program. Keith is designated as a Certified Training Professional by the Canadian Society for Training and Development, a Project Management Professional by PMI, an Earned Value Professional by AACE, and he is a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
